Great Things Are Happening Under The Canopy

Each year, Trees Columbus hosts a multitude of Tree Tours, the Tree Climb and our annual membership party, Spring for the Green. We are adding some new and exciting events this year: the first-ever Wild & Scenic 'On Tour' Film Festival, 3 different screenings of inspiring environmental documentaries, as well as a Special Anniversary Arbor Day celebration in February 2018!

Member-sip & Tree Walk

Trees Columbus will host our first ever Member-Sip Cider Tasting & Winter Solstice Tree Walk, Thursday, Dec. 20 @ 4:30 PM. The new JARFLY restaurant at the Village on 13th will host a cider pour with Tree Horn Cidery out of Atlanta.  Participants will meet in the Dinglewood Park Parking Lot.

Join Trees Columbus for an informative, interactive stroll through Dinglewood Park to talk about local trees, fun facts, ancient mythology and cultural lore for the impending Yuletide season.  Winter Solstice occurs each year around December 20, and is the first day of winter & the shortest day, and longest night of the year. For early cultures, Winter Solstice was a time of both apprehension & celebration of the cold dark winter, and the longer , warmer days to come.

After, join us in appreciating our marvelous members,  & welcome Tree Horn Cidery, local to Atlanta and the first craft cider brand in the market, sourcing local orchards for their product. They make year-round varieties, seasonals and tasting room exclusive ciders. They will be pouring 4 varieties of cider & telling us all about them!

Columbus continues to lose Urban Forest Canopy due to age, disease, storms and development. The Trees Columbus Canopy Campaign is creating a public-private partnership to implement creative solutions for urban forest planting, management and storm response.
