Grow Shade: The Trees Columbus Parks Project

Trees Columbus created the Parks Project in support of the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department's long-term plan for Lakebottom Park. Lakebottom Park is known for its beautiful trees. The Trees Columbus mission is to PLANT, PRESERVE, and PROTECT trees, and as we look at how to care for the Park's aging canopy, we want any plans to be driven by our neighbors who value the park as much as we do.

Canopy Restoration Project

“Don’t’ throw shade, grow it!”

The Trees Columbus Canopy Restoration Project (CRP) is an extraordinary urban forest restoration initiative developed in, and for, Columbus, Georgia. Columbus continues to to lose urban forest canopy due to age, disease, storms, and development. The CRP will plant and maintain a healthier urban tree canopy for tomorrow and for future generations.
